[Skill Guide] Max Skill Level Guide for EVERY TOS Cards (most updated)
#1
START

This guide was originally made by me as a way to train Shen Gong Bao skill to level 15 , but it can also be use to train
ANY cards with skill lvl 15.

The method is exactly the same as levelling SGB , assuming you have all the required cards which has the same active skill as the card you are training.

Note : This guide can also be use for other cards with max skill lvl 10,12,13 etc , just need a little alteration but concept is the same. PM me or comment here if need any assistance Smile

New Skill Up Method (Patch 9.0)

Quote:By using 5 characters with same Active Skill to Level-up, the Skill Lv. must be up by 1 or more.

In simple terms , when feeding the main card with 5 other cards with the same skill (regardless of card type eg : [Image: 40?cb=20140618164259&path-prefix=zh&format=webp] and [Image: 40?cb=20140618164927&path-prefix=zh&format=webp] etc ..have the same skill but they are both different cards) , the main card will definitely go up by 1 skill level.

Note 1 : 5 cards has to be eaten together and not 1 by 1 to get the definite skill lvl up

Note 2 : The random skill lvl up still occurs when the main card consumes the other 5. Therefore, there are chances that the skill will go up by 2 or 3 or more. Going up by 1 skill lvl is still definite.

Note 3 : Some methods mentioned in the guide did not utilize this capability, therefore may not be efficient, but it is still viable post and pre patch 9.0 . Exception is for Hybrid Method which fully utilizes this capability.

SYNOPSIS OF THE GUIDE :

Quote:Methods :

1) Original Method (Use less material but longer) : Grind 5 cards to skill lvl 9. Let main consume 4 of them, it will get to skill lvl 15

2) Effective Method (Use more material but faster) : ALTERNATIVE (4)

3) Preferred Method (Use Harpy but fastest) : Grind 5 cards to skill lvl 8. Count and grind 92 more rounds. Let main consume the 4 dupes, it will get to skill lvl 12 then eat 3 harpies for max skill lvl

4) Hybrid Method ( Efficient and Fast , post patch 9.0) : Guide at bottom or here, credits to original method developer

least required number of dupes (including your main) for each skill level (rounded off) :

SLVL 15 = 23260 : 5 dupes (SLVL 9) / 9 dupes (SLVL 8) / 25 dupes (SLVL 7)

SLVL 13 = 17260 : 4 dupes (SLVL 9) / 7 dupes (SLVL 8) / 19 dupes (SLVL 7)

SLVL 12 = 14260 : 3 dupes (SLVL 9) / 6 dupes (SLVL 8) / 15 dupes (SLVL 7)

SLVL 10 = 8260 : 2 dupes (SLVL 9) / 3 dupes (SLVL 8) / 9 dupes (SLVL 7)

Ideal placed to skill grind is 2-5 (7 stages) ; beneficial to max skill level  any Defense Ex Slime while grinding 1-3 (5 stages)

Look through the whole guide for a more detail explanation

Gemini vs SGB method :

slime 2* ( max skill lvl 10 )>  2:1* mat , 1:2* mat , 1:3* mat , 1:4* mat
slime 4* (3 max skill lvl 10 needed)

SGB
dark elf 3* (max skill lvl 5)> 2:2* mat , 2:3* mat and 1:4* mat
dark elf 4* (3 max skill lvl 10 needed)

Picture is not mine. Credits to original owner.

Using the common Gemini method of getting 3 lvl 10 slime 4* would not be efficient because the needed materials to evolve each card for SGB is more rare then slime as well as more expensive and stamina dependent.

SGB Materials :

To achieve lvl 15, the amount of battles needed is
SLV15  :  23260

The goal here is to achieve skill lvl 9 of the targeted card through manual grinding.

Skill level 9 has 5260 of battle rounds

23260 (lvl 15) / 5260 (lvl 9) and we have around 4.5 or 5 cards of skill level 9 to max SGB skill based on the graph (link above) Meaning that 4 elf and SGB to make out 5

So, we farm 4 of these [Image: mousesmall_zpsf7c9a4a5.png]

Note :
You can farm him in Dark Investiture aka Abbey of the Thunderous.
Drop rate is low, and base on me farming, apprentice DOES NOT drop, start from elite to master (one user says apprentice drops, but i believe it is very rare). Extra stage has a confirm drop at stage 15, after beating GSoD.

and evolve them into these [Image: mousebig_zpsd1cde736.png]

Some people ask why we have to evolve them, why not just feed 3* mouse to max skill lvl before evolving them ? This is because :

(08-21-2014, 02:16 AM)timeekit Wrote: sgb 3* feeder only reaches to max skill lvl 5 while 4* feeder reaches max skill lvl 15 .

so even if u max skill 3* feeder, u can only reach to skill lvl 5 and nothing  more. therefore u have to evolve it, to gain the remaining battle round accumulation.

The total amount of required evolve materials will be :

8 of [Image: mat1_zps520f7d12.png] , 8 of [Image: mat2_zpse7201137.png] & 4 of [Image: mat3_zps14e41d92.png]

after evolving them , you have to train them to skill lvl 9 manually by farming the required stage level the normal way. The best placed to farm is 2-5 (7 stages), especially during 50% stamina bonus.

Note 1 : Recommended to use the SGB skill grind deck to farm the materials, 2 birds with 1 stone.

Note 2 : Would be beneficial to farm and skill level heart converting slime into enchanted heart converting slime. eg : Gemini, Rangeng, Stolas and JZY, since you may get them in the future, why not use the grind procedure to farm them Smile (Ixidor, 2014)

Calculations :

Quote:5260 stages (Skill lvl 9)  / 7 stages = 752 times
752 x 4 stamina (50% off) = 3008 stamina
3008 x 10 = 30080 / 60 = 501 hours / 24 = 21 days (estimated)

.. yes .. it is that long lol , you could always resort using harpy ( look at bottom alternatives , especially read alternative 3 & 4 )

After making them to skill level 9, just feed 4 of them into the main card (SGB) of skill lvl 9 or higher which will definitely max SGB skill

It may be tedious but you'll be able to save Harpy

The  recommended method to grind SGB skill is like these Eg :

Harpy / Baby Harpy

Just a small section regarding consuming harpy. Because the battle rounds doesn't carry over, you have to plan your cards nicely.

(06-16-2014, 12:21 PM)Huat Wrote:
(06-16-2014, 12:17 PM)timeekit Wrote: would like to enquire something about harpy.

for the sake of explaining. ignore the propose battle rounds, which is not according to skill battle round chart.

skill lvl 1 = 100 rounds
skill lvl 2 = 200 rounds

if I were to train the card until 150 rounds then eat harpy.
do I get skill lvl 2 with 200 rounds or 250 rounds?
thx Smile

Harpy will give you exactly enough to hit next skill level which is 50 rounds and bring your total to 200.
That's why it's important that you know exactly how many rounds is needed per level to maximize your usage of Harpy

On the other hand, Baby Harpy will give exactly 200 battle rounds. It will carry over .

Locations :

Baby Harpy is awarded by drawing the 10 friend seal draws (2000 friend points) ; Baby Harpy is also awarded through events.

Harpy is awarded by completing Soul Master (SM) stages ; Harpy is also awarded through events .

Tip 1 : Baby Harpy gives 200 > 160 battle rounds (slvl 5), consuming 5 of them will give u 1000 > 960 battle rounds (slvl 7).

For slvl 10 cards, u can either feed 5 Baby Harpy then feed it with 3 Harpy for max skill or feed them with farmable cards (event cards) until u max the skill.

For slvl 11-15 cards, essentially the same with original grinding method, but Baby Harpy will really hasten the process (5 Baby Harpy = slvl 7) , especially if you plan on maxing the cards skills by feeding it with famable cards (event cards)

Tip 2 : If you're skill levelling a card using Harpy, it is better to consume until it reaches a level before the max.

eg : Pieces skill lvl 12 , max cd 2 , consume until skill lvl 11 , cd 3. This is because, since you are gonna use the card constantly, why waste a harpy when you could be gaining battle rounds anyway. Not stopping those who want to max the skill immediately, just a small tip to save harpy Smile

Alternatives :

(1)

Skill Level according to number of Evolved Mouse Elves

You could also train the elf mouse to level 7 or level 8  but then you will need 25 cards or 9 cards respectively based on calculation. The concept is the same , jus tat u would nid double or triple amounts of evolve materials to evolve the small mouse elf into the big one , as well as actually getting the elf mouse which doesnt drop very often.

Also noted that a deck can only hold 5 cards meaning that if u were to train ur cards to skill lvl 8, u would have to repeat the process again, doubling the required time.

(2)

4 Harpies

If you train 5 cards (including SGB) to skill level 8, merge 4 mouse elves into SGB which will make his skill to
level 11 (2760 x 5 = 13800 > 11260).
Then just feed him 4 Harpies and we will also have a max skill SGB  Smile

(3) ( most preferred by users )

3 Harpies

Credits to Loner ( save one harpy compared to alternative 2 )

From alternative 2 , level 11 (2760 x 5 = 13800 > 11260)
13800 is 460 rounds from 14260
to make SGB skill level 12. So if you grind 460 rounds more for SGB, make it to level 12 then eat 3 harpies, you are able to save 1 harpy.

Credits to mana_nats

Would be faster to grind, (460/5) = 92 more rounds when they reach lvl 8 to distribute the total number of rounds.
[ (2760+92) x 5 > 14260 ]

Note : In simple terms . Get 5 cards to skill lvl 8. Count and grind 92 more rounds. Let main card consume the 4 dupes , and it will get to skill lvl 12 then eat 3 harpies for max skill lvl Smile

Note 2 : Feeding the Mouse to SGB may prompt the random skill up also. This happen to several users, meaning that while you feed the mouse to sgb, the random skill up may happen and you may only nid to eat 2 , 1 or none harpy at all if you're lucky. post 52  has some pics of the random skill up Smile

(4)

0 Harpies , 588 less rounds from 5230 but 2 more evolved mouse elves needed

Credits to my friend KW , who showed me this method . I will explain in the diagram, link below or bottom attachment  :

http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo352/timeekit/SGBmaxskill_zps71f7baca.png

You can view some examples of people using this method at post 94 & post 100

Note 1 : previously used old battle chart for making this diagram but new battle chart doesn't affect my method. Just follow the steps and consume based on they're skill lvl and you will still get max skill lvl Smile

Note 2 : This diagram can also be use to level OTHER Skill LeveL 15 cards.

If u get confuse .. jus replace the term "SGB" with "Main", and "M" with "Dupe 1 , Dupe 2 etc .. "

(5)

Random skill prompt by feeding multiple times

This is the most basic and luck based skill lvl farm since the introduction of TOS . This method is basically where we hope feeding a mob multiple times to the card in training will lvl his skill . It may be faster but the number of mobs will vary base on pure luck. could be 10 , could be 100 or more. This is the method used to skill lvl up gemini's dark slime Smile

Remember that the mob being fed has to have the same active skill for this to work

Note 1 : Consuming the mouse preferably 1 by 1, especially those who use method 2 or 3, may prompt SGB to skill lvl up which will hasten the overall process including the reduction of using harpy.

Note 2 : explained the steps needed if the card gets a lucky random skill prompt here post 108.  the situation will vary based on what skill lvl is ur card,  therfore it is essential to know how to calculate how many battle rounds are needed for ur card to max skill.

The alternatives will definitely work , and your cards are guaranteed a max skill lvl .

Alternative 5 however is based on pure luck and feeding each mob doesn't guarantee a skill lvl up.

Hybrid Skill lvl grinding and multiple card feeding method  (Post Patch 9.0)

original link:
http://www.towerofsaviorsforum.com/Thread-Skill-Guide-Max-Skill-Level-Guide-for-EVERY-TOS-Cards-most-updated?pid=224167#pid224167

This is a new method developed using the 9.0 patch as a new basis with advantages.

All credits goes to Vorseti , Zinsho and evilvoice

This is a hybrid skill lvl method of the manual grind for rounds and the Skill lvl system where you feed 5 cards of the same active skill ( it can be different cards with same active skill ) to   another card of the same active skill, in order to get a guaranteed skill lvl up .

The  logic behind this method is to feed some already trained in terms of accumulated rounds cards in pairs of 5 to another card in order to achieve one extra guaranteed skill lvl up other than the skill lvl up that you whould have gained from the sum of the card rounds . According to some players the skill rounds are calculated before the guaranteed skill lvl up procs , so that way we can get an extra skill lvl up if we plan well our feeding .

So with an example :

[Image: mousebig_zpsd1cde736.png] slvl 1 card   + [Image: mousebig_zpsd1cde736.png]   Slvl 7 card ,  [Image: mousebig_zpsd1cde736.png]Slvl 7 Card , [Image: mousebig_zpsd1cde736.png] slvl 7 card , [Image: mousebig_zpsd1cde736.png] slvl 1 card , [Image: mousebig_zpsd1cde736.png] slvl 1 card =  [Image: mousebig_zpsd1cde736.png] slvl 9 card.

Normaly we whould expect a slvl 8 card  since we feed 3 x slvl 7 cards together and the slvl 1 cards hardly add anything to that in terms of rounds , but thanks to the guaranteed skill lvl up system we are able to achieve an extra skill lvl up with fewer rounds collected on the cards but with some extra cards required .

Evilvoice explains it well here :

Quote: Wrote:Order is important as we are relying on 5 card bonus to get to the next level so it requires us to just meet the rounds needed for the skill level just below what we want. Skill 10 means we need to get to skill 9 with 5 cards combined. Skill 12 = skill 11 with 5 cards combined. Skill 15 = skill 14 with 5 combined.

So now that we have given an example and the basic theory of this skill lvl up method , lets take a look at the most common skill lvls and they way to grind them more efficiently  regarding the manual skill lvl grinding , but at the same time keep the required number of cards as low as possible .

SLVL 10 Training Method

Lets see the different training methods and their efficiency

A) Manual Grind
With Manual Grind you whould require 3 slvl 8 ( 2760 rounds )  Cards in order to get a slvl 10 card .
Or if we had 5  , 5 cards slvl 7 worth 1652 rounds .

B) Baby Harpy + 5 card skill lvl up feeding method , no manual grinding
In order not to use more efficiently this method and save up some cards , it is better to use some baby harpies and get raise the slvl of the starting card to slvl 6-7  and then start feeding  groups of 5 cards to the main card .
So with 2 baby harpies and 60 round manual grinding you can get a slvl 6 card . On that card you can feed 4 x 5 = 20 cards in order to get the remaining 4 slvls .
If you feed 5 baby harpies and you get a slvl 7 card you need 15 extra copies to get the remaining 3 slvls .

Sometimes while feeding the 5 cards , you may  get some Lucky skill lvl ups other than the guaranteed one , this may reduce the number of required cards by 5 for each lucky skill lvl up .

C) Hybrid Method

For this method you need 6 Cards .
Train 5 of them to slvl 7 ( 960 rounds )
Keep training the cards for additional 92 Rounds ( calculate the rounds based on the battles you have done OR check the % to next slvl up )
Feed  all the slvl 7 cards ( 960+92 = 1052 )  to the sixth card ( slvl 1 ) -------> The result is a Slvl 10 card .

For this method we manually grinded cards to reach slvl 9 , and with the extra slvl up we reached Slvl 10 .

Slvl 12 Training Method

A) Manual Grinding

5 x slvl 8 cards with 2852 rounds = slvl 12 card

B ) Baby Harpy + 5 Card skill lvl up method , no manual grinding

5 x baby Harpy for a slvl 7 card + 5 x 5 = 25 cards for the remaining 5 skill lvls

C ) Hybrid Method

Required Cards 11 and 1652 rounds manual grinding

- Train 5 of them to slvl 7 ( 960 rounds )
- Keep training the cards for additional 92 Rounds ( calculate the rounds based on the battles you have done OR check the % to next slvl up )

- Feed  all the slvl 7 cards ( 960+92 = 1052 )  to the sixth card ( slvl 1 ) -------> The result is a Slvl 10 card .

- Leave aside the slvl 10 card and train the remaining 5 cards for 600 rounds each ( slvl 6 , somewhere between 6 and 7 , 3x baby harpy worth ) .

- Feed the 5 slvl 6 cards to the slvl 10 card -------------> the result is a Slvl 12 card .

For this method we trained one card to slvl 10 using the slvl 10 method and we grinded manually 3000 worth of rounds ( 5 x 600 ) , in order to reach the slvl card to slvl 11 and with the extra skill lvl up get a slvl 12 card .
Rounds needed 960 + 92 + 600 = 1652

<><>  In case  you don't want to grind manually the 600 rounds for slvl 10 -> 11 , you can add 5 extra cards in order to get to slvl 12. Required cards 16 , Rounds needed 960+92 = 1052 .

Slvl 15 Training Method

A) Manual Grinding

With the 7 card sgb method you have to manually grind 7 cards for total 4642 ( +few rounds  extra )

B)  Baby Harpy + 5 card skill lvl up feeding method , no manual grinding

5 x baby harpy for slvl 7 + 5 x 8 = 40 cards for the remaining 8 skill lvls

C) Hybrid Method

Cards required 16 and 2852 rounds worth manual grinding

- Train 5 of them to slvl 7 ( 960 rounds )

- Keep training the cards for additional 92 Rounds ( calculate the rounds based on the battles you have done OR check the % to next slvl up )
- Feed  all the slvl 7 cards ( 960+92 = 1052 )  to the sixth card ( slvl 1 ) -------> The result is a Slvl 10 card ( 8260 round worth ) .

- Leave aside the slvl 10 card and train another 5 cards for 600 rounds each ( slvl 6 , somewhere between 6 and 7 , 3x baby harpy worth ) .

- Feed the 5 slvl 6 cards to the slvl 10 card -------------> the result is a Slvl 12 card .

- Leave aside the slvl 12 card and train the last 5 cards for 1200 rounds ( slvl 7 cards )
- Feed the last 5 cards to the slvl 12 card --------> The result is a slvl 15 card .

For this method we used the lvl 12 skill lvl method ( 11 cards - 1652 rounds needed ) , and feeded 5 cards worth  1200 rounds ( their sum is 6000 ) in order for the sum of rounds to reach slvl 14 . With the extra skill slvl up of the 5 card feeding we acquire a slvl 15 card . Required cards 11+5 = 16 and rounds needed 1652+ 1200 = 2852 .

How to Estimate rounds ?  NOTE : I am not sure about this part if the numbers and estimations are accurate

Now a question , how do we calculate the rounds if we are going to stop somewhere before the next skill lvl up ( 1052 , 600 and 1200 rounds mentioned above ) ?

Well you can either count , OR you can caclulate the percentage of your skill lvl progress and add 1-2 % extra just to be safe . The round system with numbers we do have is based on the player estimation , so perhaps we might need some extra effort just in case it doesn't proc skill lvl up based on rounds . The skill bar  shows the progress with % , so i can make only  theoretical estimations , i haven't tested those %  .

1052 ( slvl 7 ) , 92 bonus rounds from slvl 7 . if we calculate how much in % is 92 compared to 2760-960 = 1800 , we whould find it somewher close to 5.1 % . In order to be safe , train your cards to 6-7 % .

600 ( slvl 6 ) ,  140 rounds extra from slvl 6 .  if we calculate how much in % is 140 compared to 960-460  = 500 , we whould find it somewher close to 28 % . In order to be safe , train your cards to 29-30 % .

1200 (slvl 7 ) , 240 bonus rounds from slvl 7 . if we calculate how much in % is 240 compared to 2760-960 = 1800 , we whould find it somewher close to 13.3 % . In order to be safe , train your cards to 15-16 % .

Thoughts :

This method is not cheap in terms for card used , it can't be used to skill level most of the cards drawn from diamond seals ( unless you have saved multiple copies of them ) , but it can help you skill lvl some cards that can be farmed on Weekly battles or SM battles , without needing to farm 40 + copies of them .

1. The best place to farm skill cd is 2-5 and not 1-3.
2. No point feeding 1 by 1 since you won't be using that spare card for anything else.
3. If you're going to grind skill cd to skill level 8 manually, you might as well just train it to 9. Saves a lot more evolve mats and grinding for the dark elf itself.

i am not sure about the drop rate but , i dont think that the elf mouse will drop in elite.. i have been spamming since i made this thread yet it din drop on elite.

this morning though i tried in hard , and the elf drop ... seriously, i spend quite a few tries on elite since its 50% stamina bonus as well .

maybe its my luck, hope someone can tell me if they have drop this elf mouse in elite.

on the other hand, i did frequently encounter the evolve material for SGB in elite , and it dropped on several occasions.

and GUD LUCK for those skill farming SGB .

I just finished farming 5 from elite. Played around 30+ times and used up a stamina refill.

My question now is, what CD should I level up SGB and these 5 elves before I feed them to SGB?

I will be farming for Gemini using SGB and farmable cards, I'm not sure if I am patient enough to get to slv 9...

thx for telling me tat elite can drop.

u jus need 4 elves , and include SGB meaning 5 cards.

placed them in a deck and farm them to skill lvl 9 .

skill lvl 9 has 5230 rounds , 5 x 5230 = 26150 , which exceeds the required minimum of 23192 rounds for skill lvl 15

you could also give SGB (skill lvl 9) eat 3 elf mouse (skill lvl 9) and 1 elf mouse (skill lvl 8)
(5230 x 4) + 2748 = 23668
which is also higher than the required 23192 ..

basically , u jus need to have the SGB consume the required amount of Battle Rounds of 23192 so that his skill level can increase to max skill lvl 15 Smile

hope u understand. Refer to this graph, which is the basis of this skill guide for SGB http://www.towerofsaviorsforum.com/Thread-The-Most-Updated-Skill-Leveling-Guide

but remember to only feed the evolved mouse elf to SGB Smile

Gemini shud be easier, u can also use this SGB method , but farming skill lvl 10 slimes is easier since the materials needed and the monster are readily available and cheaper ..

i got this from another thread , and all credits belong to the original owner

so my experience for farming 3 slv 10 slime for gemini from totally 0 slime is my 5* red golem went from slv 1/2 to slv 6 which is about 450 -500 rounds
(i finish my 3rd slime soon after my red golem reach slv6, luck is also a factor here)
so even u double that, its about 1000 round and slv 9 need 5230 rounds, lol
