Great news about Meng Huo: https://tinyurl.com/y9vhzpnc

According to the Known Issue list from the tos.engineer page on FB:
Quote:「愚者蠻王 ‧ 孟獲」的主動技能「烈焰之志」效果異常,暫以「點石加冕 ‧ 火」代替。正確「烈焰之志」技能為:所有符石隨機轉化為火符石及隨機 2 種屬性符石;1 回合內,所有屬性符石兼具 50% 火符石效果 ( CD 8 )

The original skill for Meng Huo is bugged and has been temporarily replaced with Selective Coronation - Fire. The correct skill should be: Turn all runes randomly into fire runes and runes of 2 other random attributes, for 1 turn, all attributive runes have 50% fire effect. (CD8)

For one, Sun Ce dissolves any clumps of four, so you're wasting time spinning for columns when the clump can already be dissolved in some cases. For another, unlike Babylon, there's no guaranteed skydrops even if you do spin columns of four, so you're not rewarded for spinning columns.

Another problem is that instead of three, you now need four Heart runes to heal. The initial opinions of Sun Ce seem to be that Kula is almost core because her damage reduction is what keeps a team with average stats alive while waiting for four Heart runes to come up to heal.

Hmm. He has the same thing as Abraham though where the extra combos cause his recovery to be unusually high, so at the very least, one set of 4 is usually going to be enough to max heal. Though my initial thought was you want Wen Zhong-Cassandra and then just have Oichi or something because healing is always going to be a problem with the 4 dissolve. Last slot is Swegde or Sun Quan unless you need utility. I would like Wen Zhong's AR to make Water=Heart to some degree actually, because that's a nice buff for other water teams but doesn't really do anything for Atlantis.

I have had a look at my inventory though and I definitely don't have the cards to make him super functional. So, I'm not particularly gunning for any of the rares this seal round.

You're right about the extra combos helping with healing. I think their main gripe is more the fact that you need one more Heart rune to even heal.

Interesting to see that Meng Huo's active is a replacement, considering he was leaked on the Chinese servers having the replacement ability before the actual update. That would imply that MH knew about some kind of bug, but was maybe too busy prepping for the anniversary celebration to deal with it? oO

Is it reaaaally a bug or did MH just get a bunch of complaints and decide to back down and just buff him?

Anyway, so he's a better Chessia active for monofire teams. That's pretty good. Not super complimentary to Zhurong unless you use both of their actives on the same turn (which means 3 colors of attacking runes for the 10x boosted Zhurong). That makes this whole seal be strong commons and interesting but not exactly revolutionary rares.

Does Sun Ce's leader combo bonus apply to his active skill? Like I make 4 combos with no sky drop with leader it becomes 12 combo, will that trigger his max active skill damage?

In general, combos from skills that directly modify the combo counter (like Daoloth, Cornflower, Yashiro, etc.) will count towards conditions that require a certain number of combos as long as it doesn't require "initial dissolve". I think Sun Ce's active doesn't require initial dissolve, so the leader combo bonus should count towards the combo requirement.

You don't really need more, since leader and ally already give that. Yamato Takeru might still be useful for reducing the number of attackers though, as we saw with Fthaggua.

Personally I feel like I would use Gretchen pretty frequently, since she lets you stall at the beginning with no multiplier. Wen Zhong and Cassandra would be shoo-ins most of the time as well, with possibly Lust and/or Guan Yu allowing you to deal with overheal if it comes. Alternatively, Sie Kensou + Athena makes for a pretty strong pairing, with a full heal every 5 turns and damage boost + reduction half the time.

Just did a few tries of Khaos 9th seal stage (not the sm) with XHD (dark rare) and got some thoughts to share.
First, healing is a pain, I might have been spoiled by easy healing leaders like Sakura Rose and Greeks (Aza and Daoloth kinda too) but Uranus, the first enemy, ended most of the runs in it's second attack. Part of the problem is that heart runes can be converted away making the two marked columns an annoyance.
Lancelot is awesome in the team, his first active (converter) is a mini burst that lasts two turns, second active doesn't need to be explained why it's great.
The new fire guy works well, one part left out of the English skill description is that it prioritizes attributes in the team so it becomes a nice burst for the team.
You know, I mistook the stage to have a heart shield like the sm so I'm thinking of replacing Rococco (for the swastika conversion) with cok Agatha for easier heart generation.
The new earth was good to increase survivability but the fact that CD doesn't reduce while it's in effect makes it bad for that stage.

You know what, I'm thinking of going with demons, use rider Knapp to increase the team hp also have extra runes to burst and extra healing and Yog for a lot of reasons only downside is that it can screw a little the conversion box but the active makes up for that. Too bad Samle passive will not work.

Update 21-01-2017

Main post:
- Corrected some missing information and the skill of Meng Huo.
- Added comments for VR Flowers of Pledge

Tier List:
- Guan Yu moved from Best Choice to Standard: this change is based on feedback of how unstable she feels right now, also Zhurong it's outclassing her on the multiple attributes archetype.
- Ophiuchus moved from Super Leader to Best Choice: after a lot of discussions about his potential and stuff, it feels than Ophiuchus needs more of the player power than what the card can do by itself. He might return to super leader tier depending on how he unfolds on the upcoming content.
- Flowers of Pledge moved from Standard to Super Leader: The built-in multiplier was increased, and their major drawbacks on their active skills are also removed. Xi might not work well with Cassandra as Atlantis does, but they are different leaders that can work with different members.
- All Greeks moved to Best Choice: the major increase of stat, lack of need for converters and access to powerful members as divergence Flowers of Pledge, Rakshasa, Hel, Fenrir, and Lucifer, have made the meme teams for greek way too strong right now.
- Cornflower moved to Standard: Now with the introduction of refinement Priestess Xi cornflower feels even worse than before when compared to other jackpot water cards, let's hope Madhead can introduce more cards to improve the identity of this guy.
- Honda, Copper and Chyan to Standard: the lack of popularity and how situational they might be have brought them down on this tier list by feedback, yet I still feel Honda pretty strong, specially now that refinement Xi turns dark in to water instead of light.
- Added Babylon to subpar: because they might receive VR eventually at some point and I think they are not bad as greeks were until this patch.
