To help make the skill list more exhaustive, these are some more skills. (I don't know if these skills can/will be a result of forging, just that these are on old crafts)

Offensive skills:
- Increase X Monster's ATK on Y enemies by Z% for 1 round.
- Team ATK and REC increase by X% for 1 round.

Defensive skills:
- X% of damage dealt to enemies will be converted to HP for 1 round, to the max of Y% of total HP.

Special skills:
- X% damage will be dealt regardless of Y shield for 1 round.
- Deal X Attribute/non-Attributive damage to all enemies for 1 round. (Can also be regardless of defense)
- Attack increases by X% while ignore attribute relation.
- Defense of all enemies -X% for 1 round.
- Single ATK become Full ATK for 1 round.

I can tell you that MS craft does. I was thrilled to make a 3* elf ball. Made a 3* light dragon MS craft too. Light dragon- what luck! Yeah that one got rolled into something new.

Craft forging is fun and all but why can't we just stick to the default?
Are the bonuses from forged craft better?

Erm, there are few reasons for this:
1) MH may not release any more new craft or reduce giving away in achievement. Instead of giving away pre-made crafts, they may choose to give away core and essence instead (good one as achievement reward in SM maybe). So, we have to learn how to forge craft or else we will never get new crafts.

2)  The beauty of the forging system is that we can do our own combination of skills. For example, there are sniper type skill in special category which can ignore defense (not available to any default craft) and normal snipe that can hit like 600k damage. With player's own creativity, we can create custom craft that can help us to tackle some difficult rounds without bringing in special utility card just for that.

3) You can essentially use craft type you don't like as material to forge craft type that you like so that you have more options in choosing craft.

4) When we reach a level where we have a good bank of essence, we can replace 1/2 skills in our core to tackle specific stages and replace it back with spare essence after we are done. This can serve like some form of emergency measures.

Lol that really is a minor "cherry on top" bonus type of thing at this point lol

I'd say order importance goes:

Craft type
Race restriction (best if none imo)
Elemental restriction (somewhat more usable than race restriction)
Charge up type

You wouldn't bother rerolling it if the first 3 came out the way you wanted it haha
