Arena Explanation
-The Arena is a place for heroes to compete with each other. The Summoner with the highest Score in an Arena challenge will become the new Conqueror of that Arena.
-The results of an Arena Stage will be calculated based on remaining Battle Points, Rounds, Max Combos, Max Damage, and Time. To win or to lose, Battle Point is the question: you will be defeated when they are used up. You will have 1000 basic Battle Points. Battle Points will be deducted when Active Skills are activated or Summoner's HP becomes 0.
-Summoner has 5 points of Vigor each day, which can be used in Arena challenge. Go strive for the honour as a Conqueror, a higher Class and a higher Ranking!
-The Arena Mode is concluded every Monday at 12:00 PM (+08:00 GMT). Summoners can get Rewards corresponding to their Classes and Rankings, including treasures like Diamonds, Prize Points, Harpy and Baby Harpy.
-Summoner's best 5 Scores of the day are used to calculate Arena Class and Ranking.
-There are different series which given bonus ability for being a member of the attacking side or defending side. The boosted Series will be changed bi-weekly. Some weeks may or may not have defensive boosts.
-For details of the boosted monsters, Summoner can check in the Monster Details in the Arena Hall.

-To maintain balance, some of the Characters cannot be part of the team in Arena, including:

Armstrong the City Taker
Court of Taurus – Armstrong
Galio the Broad Swordsman
Court of Leo – Galio
Taurus of Berserker – Armstrong
Leo of Gallantry – Galio
Yue Qi
Sword of Mind – Yue Qi
Headless Horseman – Dullahan

About the Arenas
-Each Summoner can be the conqueror of at most 3 Arenas at the same time.
-New Arenas exists for only 12 hours (instead of 24 hours)
-When owning an Arena, it'll last for at most 12 hours and 0.4 prize points are gained every minute, 4 every 10 minutes, 24 every hour and 288 for 12 hours.
-The Arena health is drained by the amount of points earned, rather than how many times it's played.
-Each Arena has approximately 40,000 HP worth of points to be drained.
-King towers will always have enemies with lv99. (Does not include Legend Rank)
___________________________________________________________
About Arena Levels
-The current maximum arena level is 10.
-Your basic Battle Points starts from 1000 at Arena Level 1. You gain 50 additional Battle Points on top of the previous 1000 for every rank level gained.
-The higher the owner's Arena Level, the higher the HP and ATK of inserted cards and the more skills become active.
-With every clear, you gain Arena EXP and increase your Arena level. You'll be matched against other players of the same Arena level as much as possible.
___________________________________________________________
About Class Ranking
-Arena Classes include Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Warlord, Legend and King. Only the top 10000 Summoners can ascend to the Classes of Legend and King!
-In the Arena Mode, after the weekly conclusion, Summoner's Arena Level will be reset to the lowest Level of last week's Class.  If Summoner has not challenged any Arena last week, it will be downgraded to the lowest Level of one lower Class (bottom out at Bronze III).
-After each season, all player's ranks will be reset to Bronze III. Each season lasts around 1 month+
-Arena diamond rewards by ranking are as follows: Bronze - 0, Silver - 1, Gold - 2, Platinum - 3, Diamond - 4, Warlord - 5 , Legend (Top 10k) - 5 to 8, King (Top 500) - 10 to 50.
___________________________________________________________
About Battle Points
-You start with 1000 base Battle Points, and the amount increases as your Arena Level increases.
-Battle Point bonuses are usually around 10%.
-Boosted cards can be found under "monster details" icon in the Arena homepage, not limited to just Imperial Warlords.
___________________________________________________________
In-battle Arena Information
IMPORTANT: Max Damage is only calculated at the boss stage.
-In an Arena Stage, 80 Battle Points will be deducted for Combination or Switching.
-To ensure the fairness of the Arena Mode: All Monsters have a unified HP, Attack and Recovery. The higher the Monster's Level, the higher the Monster's HP, Attack and Recovery. Moreover, Monsters of "Sealed Lords" are prohibited.
-Using an active will cost CD x10 Battle Points.
-Every card can use its active every turn, but only once a turn.
-Starting from the 5th spinning turn, for every turn used -100 result points.
-In an Arena Stage, 30% of total Battle Points will be deducted when Summoner's HP becomes 0. Summoner will be defeated when Battle Points are deducted to 0.
-In an Arena Stage, Active Skills can be activated at any time (the same Skill of the same Monster can only be activated once each Round.) Upon Skill activation, Battle Points will be deducted according to the Monster's Skill CD. Summoner will be defeated when Battle Points are deducted to 0.
-Diamond cannot be used to revive.
-Craft cannot be used in Arena.
___________________________________________________________
About defending an Arena

-When the arena is defeated, the Summoner with the highest score will become the new Conqueror of the Arena.
-The Conqueror can set the Defending Team of the Arena. (Please be reminded that for every type of abilities, only one monster of the same ability can be chosen as the defensive team)
-Arena Conquerors can set a personal Team for Defense (only one Monster can be selected in one Series).
-By tapping "Monsters' Details" in the main page of the Arena Mode, you can check the available Defense Monsters and their Defense Skills.
-On your card, there's a toggle by the Leader Skill heading that lets you see the card's resulting skill when you put it into battle (if any). For example, PR Artemis has 5-combo shield, and Marguerite has Weather Runes.
-You may switch arena team with a penalty of 6 hours to be unable to reset the team again.
___________________________________________________________
About Prize Points
-Prize Points DO NOT disappear between seasons and weeks, so do not worry and overspend them.
-Prize Points can be obtained in every Arena challenge. When an Arena is destroyed, the top 40 Summoners with the highest Scores will be rewarded with extra Prize Points.
-Prize Points can be used to redeem various prizes including Harpy, Madhead, Arena's limited Monsters. Prize Points can be obtained through Arena challenges, successful conquests, or great performance in a challenge, etc.
-Summoner will be rewarded with Prize Points during the time of being the Conqueror of an Arena. The longer the period, the more the Prize Points rewarded.
-Regardless of the result of battle, the player will still get Price Point and can be used to redeem for attractive prizes. 5 Price Points are gained from losing or leaving a battle and 10 reward points for winning a battle.
-The bonus Prize Points you get when an Arena is 'finished' are:
*1st: 100 Prize Points
*2nd: 70 Prize Points
*3rd: 50 Prize Points
*4th - 40th: 30 Prize Points
-For winning (dying is allowed, as long as the battle is completed) consecutively, you'll be awarded bonus prize points up to 200% (40 Prize Points per successful attempt).
-Rewards are as follows:
*Prime Soulstones of all 5 attributes - 300 points gets you 5, unlimited exchanges
*Prime Soulstones bulk purchase 5 of any attributes - 300 points for 5 Prime Soulstones
*Level-up cards (Jade Rabbit, Dagger Wielder etc) of all 5 attributes - 200 points gets you 1, max 5 exchanges
*Baby Harpies - 150 points gets you 1, max 30
*Harpies - 2500 points gets you 1, max 5
*Arcane Luster - 100 points gets you 1, max 15
*Mini Madhead - 150 points gets you 1, max 10
*Arena card - 800 points gets you 1, unlimited
*Arena card x5 - 2000 points gains you 5, max 5! Take this if you intend to train max skill level for the arena card, best used after spending 5 baby harpies on the arena card.
*Skins for cards - 3500/2800 points
___________________________________________________________
Other information
-Currently, there are 10 series of cards that can be chosen as your defense team. Sealed Lord cards are prohibited.
-You will gain specific rewards for every rank level you climb up. The rewards will appear in your "Rewards" list in the community tab.
-The top ranks are separated into 2 servers, Chinese server and the English server, so you should not worry about competing with the Chinese server players.
-Diamond rank and above Arena's has its last wave's (wave 5) boss and stats hidden from the challenge screen.
-The game should send you an inbox with battle points reaped saying "Congratulations! You have become the new Conqueror of the Arena! You have gained xxx Prize Points. Try again to conquer another tower!" when you have successfully conquered a new Arena.
-If no runestones are dissolved after activating active skills, active skills will not be replenished in the next round.

Tips and Tricks
When attacking:
-Complete the stage as soon as possible. (Complete within 2 minutes.)
-Burst only at the boss round. Max damage is calculated there.
-Don't overburst. You'll only need 21.5m max damage. Exceeding 21.5m doesn't give any additional points.
-Do not hold back from using an active if it can save you rounds. Ex: Not enough runes of your attribute on board, using a CD 5 convert gives you your required runes which cost 50, but an extra round costs 100 points. However, don't use them unnecessarily.
-Save as many spinning rounds as you can.
-Combo bonus has a marginal impact so don't worry too much about it. Combo has a max cap of 25 combos, gaining any more combos does not give any additional points. Max combo is taken from any of the 5 stages.
-The protagonists is always a good choice to bring in, as it allows more stability to obtain the runestones you need.
-Get more battle points if you can, whether from taking more bonus cards in a stage, levelling up your Arena level or playing a lower and easier ranked Arena.
When defending:
Warlord ranking and below:
-Try setting as much enemies with skills that required a certain number or runestones or more. (Not as effective since Guan Yu has existed)
Legend and King ranking:
-Placing an 1-enchanted 2-normal runestones tricolor shield at the beginning on the round limits the player from gaining better score, as they would required 5 of a specific runestones in the beginning of the round or they won't be able to have the enchanted runestones ready for the next wave.
-Placing an exact 6-combo enemy at the boss wave can cripple a team's damage capabilities, or even wasting their battle points entirely from failing to spin 6-combo with multiple actives on.
Other tips:
-Your main aim would be to score as much battle points as possible in an Arena, and maintain as arena owner as long as possible which will translate back to battle points.
-You may refresh the Arena list for 200k gold to challenge other Arena. This is a suitable option if you can't wait for your current Arena list to expire. Why would you want a new list? Well, in order to find potentially easier Arena that you can conquer, especially when you decide that your current Arenas is too difficult to conquer or to gain enough scores for the top 5 of the day due to its difficulty.
-Try your best to aim for 5 spinning rounds, at most 21.5 million damage, at most 25 combos, and less than 2 minutes completion time for the best scores.
-Try to take advantage of the first day when all Arena resets. The first few Arenas are all default stages and not set by players, and are very easy to clear, take advantage and get good scores in the first few days when the stages are still quite reasonable.
-You can rearrange your board without dissolving, and surprisingly, this doesn't count as a round. However, the downsides are you will be hit by the enemy, and any skills used will not jump back up until runestones are dissolved.

Sharing Arena for guildmates/friends for massive score advantage
You'll first need a friend. Either a guildmate or a known ToS friend. You'll also need a way to make contact with them, either by Line, Messenger, WhatsApp, Wechat and etc, you name it.
Once you have found your friend/guildmate's Arena, contact the Arena owner. You will have to check how much health and time does the Arena have left, the prize points earned so far by the Arena, and also how much time you have before 12 PM, as that is when all 5 Arenas will be reset.
-The Arena health is important to check as you can calculate how many points you can still drain from it, preferably at least for 5 times. Each Arena has a health/point of 40,000. You'll need at least 20,000 Arena health to challenge it 5 times, which is halve health of the Arena if you're going to do 4,000 points per match.
-The time left for the Arena will be important when waiting for the Arena owner to respond to you. It might be too late if there is only 30 minutes on the clock before the Arena ends and the owner hasn't replied back to you, therefore you should contact him.her as soon as possible.
-The prize points earned by the Arena may be important to the Arena Owner, as they may have just only conquered the Arena a few minutes ago. They may want more points before setting the Arena to your favour. You can delay it until an hour before the Arena expires, or before 12 PM, where hopefully, the Arena Owner is satisfied with the prize points netted.
-Make sure you check the 12 PM so that the Arena doesn't get refreshed away from you while challenging the Arena after it is switched, or it'll be a free stage for other players.
-You can discuss with the Arena Owner to set what enemies for you, most preferably untrained cards with weak abilities.
-You can't change the Arena members after changing it until 6 hours later! Be careful not to set a team wrongly.
___________________________________________________________
How arena scores are calculated
Base score (2300) -
(Every extra round spent) * 100 -
(Exceeding 119 seconds + every subsequent 12-second interval) * 25 -
Ceiling(Max(0,(20,000,000 MAX DMG)/1000000*27. 5)-
(Difference from Combo Cap (25) and Highest combo) * 10
+ Points Remained
= Total Score
Might be a little bit complicated, but this is how the scoring system works.
Examples:
Time: >=119s -25, >=131s -50 etc.
Damage: First cap is 20M (550 points) and second cap is 100M. (Max 630 points, 1 point every 1 million damage after 20 million)
Time is calculated via server time, therefore your arena time display may differ from the actual time, which can cause the formulae to fail.
Parameters calculated by crunching data.

Known bugs
-If persistent skills such as the enchantresses's active skill gets reset by the enemy, their active skills may not jump back up, but still could be reactivated immediately.
-Activating Katherine may result in unlimited runestone spinning skill.
___________________________________________________________
Latest changes to the Arena
-You cannot put any non-level 99 cards into Warlord towers, and only level 99 cards would appear at the selection screen.

The only thing i am interested will be the arena score calculation:

I would like to rearrange the formula so that it will be more readable. (At least from a programmer perspective)

Since no. of min round is constant = 5, i will set the base score to 2800. I doubt MH programmer will include special case where sniper can steal rounds.

A C code for the calculation
Code:
int get_total_score (int num_round,
                     int time, //in second
                     int max_damage,
                     int max_combo,
                     int battle_point_remained)
{
   int base_point = 2800;
   int damage_cap = 18000000;
   int combo_cap = 25;
   int round_penalty, time_penalty, damage_penalty, combo_penalty;

   round_penalty = num_round * 100;

   time_penalty = ceiling ( max (0, time - 119) / 10.0 ) * 25;

   if (max_damage < damage_cap)
   {
       damage_penalty = round_to_nearest_integer ((damage_cap - max_damage)/1000000.0) * 25 + 100;
   }
   else
   {
       damage_penalty = 0;
   }

   combo_penalty = max (0, combo_cap - max_combo) * 10;

   return base_point - round_penalty - time_penalty - damage_penalty - combo_penalty + battle_point_remained;
}

A bit bored so I decides to condense the equation into 1 single equation.

Score =
2800
- MAX(0,CEILING((TIME - TIME_THRESHOLD)/10)) * 25
- Round * 100
- MAX(0 , CEILING(COMBO_CAP - COMBO)) * 10
- MAX(0 , CEILING((DMG_CAP - DMG) / 1000000)) * 25
+ BATTLE_POINT

Explanation for some of the functions in case any of you are interested:
MAX is a function that takes in a series of values and return the largest among them.
So, MAX(2,1) will return you with the value of 2, MAX(1000,-233534) will return 1000.

CEILING is a function that takes in a floating point value (basically numbers with decimal places) and return the smallest integer that is not smaller than the floating point value.
So, CEILING(2.5) = 3, CEILING(-1.2) = -1, CEILING(0.24324) = 1, CEILING(1.00001) = 2
Basically, CEILING is a rounding function that always round up a number.

IF is a conditional function, it has 3 parameters in the format IF ( CONDITION , VALUE IF TRUE , VALUE IF FALSE)
To evaluate a IF Function, we first check the CONDITION and see whether it is true or not. If it is true, we will take the value from the second parameter which is the VALUE IF TRUE and take 3rd parameter otherwise.

Function Names used are all based on google spreadsheet format, if you want a formula that corresponds to the above formula, it will be
Code:
= 2800-MAX(0,CEILING((B6-TIME_THRESHOLD)/10))*25-C6*100-MAX(0,CEILING(COMBO_CAP-E6))*10-MAX(0,100+ROUND((DMG_CAP-F6)/1000000)*25)+D6
whereby
B6 is the time
C6 is the round
D6 is the battle point remained
E6 is the max combo
F6 is the max damage
and
TIME_THRESHOLD = 119
COMBO_CAP = 25
DMG_CAP = 21500000
are the constants which I named it somewhere in the spreadsheet, replace it with the corresponding values in the formula if you do not know how to assign a cell with a name.

I have a question, have anyone tried using combine skill in arena? How does the battlepoint deduct this way?
